Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Education)
Professor Helen Partridge is an internationally recognised leader in higher education, known for her deep commitment to inclusive, student-centred learning and educational innovation. She currently serves at Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp of ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp (UOW), where she provides strategic and operational leadership to advance the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp’s education mission. Her role focuses on enhancing curriculum, teaching quality, and the student experience, while driving innovation and aligning education priorities with broader institutional goals. She works collaboratively across faculties and with external partners to strengthen UOW’s educational impact locally and globally.
Prior to joining UOW, Professor Partridge was the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) at Deakin ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp, where she led strategic initiatives to improve teaching excellence, digital learning, and student outcomes. She also served as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp of Southern Queensland, overseeing the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp Library Services, the Office for Advancement of Learning and Teaching, and the Open Access College.
Professor Partridge’s research explores the intersection of information, technology, and learning. She investigates how individuals engage with information and technology to learn – whether as students, professionals, or in everyday life. Her scholarly contributions have been recognised through prestigious fellowships, including appointments as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute, ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp of Oxford (2011), and the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp (2014).
In 2008, she was named a National Fellow of the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC), one of only eight selected nationwide, in recognition of her leadership and impact in advancing learning and teaching in Australian higher education.
Professor Partridge holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Queensland ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp of Technology, along with qualifications in psychology and tertiary education from the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp of Queensland.
