Receive a scholarship to undertake a PhD focused on strengthening practice at the intersection of domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) and alcohol and other drug treatment in Australia.
This PhD scholarship is associated with the NSW and ACT Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Doctoral Training Centre (DTC), a collaborative initiative to build research capacity and sector leadership in DFSV. The scholarship supports a candidate to generate evidence and practical tools that will strengthen the identification of, and response to, DFSV across alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment settings in NSW and beyond.
Clients attending AOD services experience DFSV at rates exceeding the general population, yet DFSV remains systematically under-identified in these settings. AOD treatment represents a critical and underutilised opportunity for early identification and coordinated response.
The successful candidate will be embedded in an Integrated Knowledge Translation framework, with sector partners involved throughout the research process to ensure findings are relevant, usable, and scalable.
