Information for students

This event is the perfect opportunity to meet and network with prospective employers and gain some great networking and self-marketing skills.

Here's what you can expect depending on what year you're in:

  • First-year students: Find internships and vacation roles, explore career pathways, and make industry connections
  • Second-year/penultimate students: Learn about graduate opportunities for the upcoming year and network with potential employers
  • Final year students: Find graduate opportunities, network with future employers, and launch your graduate career 

It also gives you the opportunity to:

  • Gain first-hand information about an employer, the structure and operation of the organisation, their vacation program, recruitment processes and other employment opportunities
  • Mingle with employers (promoting vacation programs and internships), as well as professional association bodies (who can give you insight into ways to progress through the industry of your choice)
  • Collect application information and learn how to improve your chances of gaining a position
  • Explore career opportunities and work out what you are looking for from an employer
  • Make a good first impression before applying for a position
  • Register for the expo via (login with your UOW email and password). Make sure to record it in your diary or e-calendar, and set a reminder – Do whatever works best for you!
  • Review the list of the before the expo. Read their profiles, decide which ones you want to meet, and prepare a few questions to ask. Remember this might just be the first impression the employer gets of you! Please check in regularly as this list will be updated weekly with new organisations.
