As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our systems secure and your information safe, we will be enhancing Moodle’s Authentication settings.

From 16 August 2025, users who login to Moodle directly will only be able to use Single Sign-On (SSO) with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to access the system. 

Removing the option to enter a username and password directly on the Moodle login page enhances our cybersecurity. 

This SSO with MFA option is already available on the Moodle login page. Students accessing Moodle via SOLS already utilise SSO with MFA and there will be no change to current behaviour.

When you use the SSO Login button to access Moodle, you won’t need to authenticate again if you’ve already signed into another UOW application that uses SSO.
