Overview

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Advanced is designed for experienced professionals with ambition and drive who wish to develop their responsible and sustainable leadership skills. You will gain a holistic strategic business point-of-view required to operate effectively in an increasingly competitive and changing global business world.

The course has been designed to cover three stages:

  1. Diagnostics - learn to diagnose issues in real organisations with a focus on marketing, employee engagement, talent management and accounting.
  2. Exploration - explore the latest thinking and practices in organisations and research worldwide, while developing skills in innovation and business transformation.
  3. Integration and Application - develop your strategic decision-making skills, undertake a real-world business project and hone your personal effectiveness as a responsible leader.

The MBA Advanced offers students the opportunity to specialise further in their area of interest by completing four additional subjects from a specialisation of their choice. Specialisations are available in accounting, business analytics, finance, innovation and entrepreneurship, human resource management, marketing, project management, or supply chain management.

Your learning approach will include real-world case studies, experiential learning including planning and executing an integrated and live business project towards the end of the course, and teamwork, with an emphasis on peer learning.

Domestic students have the option to study on campus or via Distance delivery mode. Distance refers to learning activities that do not require you to attend campus, but instead allow you to join pre-scheduled virtual classes.

Supply Chain Management (specialisation)

Supply chain management is concerned with the entire lifecycle of a product or service, from the raw material stages all the way through to consumption and disposal. It includes managing technical processes (such as sourcing, logistics and daily operations) and customer and supplier relationships; product development and design. Skills within this program can be applied towards a number of career opportunities. While these include traditional supply chain roles (such as inventory manager, purchasing manager, supply planner, transport manager, logistics manager, and purchasing officer), the purpose of this major is to develop your interdisciplinary business skills to apply supply chain knowledges towards all aspects of an organisation.

You will also undertake a final-year capstone subject that lets you apply everything you have learned in collaboration with students from other disciplines. Plus, you have the option of applying for an internship to gain valuable experience whilst receiving credit towards your degree.

A recognised bachelor's degree with an equivalent average mark of at least 50%, plus a minimum of three years of relevant full-time professional or managerial experience, or the part-time equivalent,

A recognised Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate with an equivalent average mark of at least 50%, together with a minimum of five years of relevant full-time professional or managerial experience, or the part-time equivalent,

Full membership of a qualifying professional body, together with a minimum of five years of relevant full-time professional or managerial experience, or the part-time equivalent,

For candidates who do not hold tertiary qualifications, the Academic Program Director may accept those with substantial and proven managerial and/or entrepreneurial experience who demonstrate the potential to meet the learning requirements of the MBA. Each case is considered holistically on its individual merits.

Applications must also include a Statement of Motivation (SOM) which should:

  • Address your motivation for studying the Master of Business Administration and how the degree will help you achieve your career goals and aspirations
  • Be no more than one page

  • Workload

    Full-Time Study Load
