Early Years Accelerated Scholarship

The ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp of ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµapp’s Bachelor of Education – The Early Years (Accelerated)Scholarship is funded by the NSW Government’s Early Learning

Diploma to Degree Pathway Program (ELDD). This program provides a supported study pathway for NSW early childhood educators to train as teachers.

Scholarship details

Component Description
Cohort 1st year Bachelor of Education – The Early Years (Accelerated)
Total Amount

Up to $6,000 for the duration of the degree.  
*Additional loading is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students (15%), regional and rural students (10%), and remote students (20%). Students who qualify for multiple categories will receive additional funding for whichever has the highest loading 

The scholarship will be in paid in equal instalments for each session enrolled (up to  6 sessions) 

Commencement Spring 2026

To be eligible for The Early Years Accelerated Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be commencing a Bachelor of Education – The Early Years (Accelerated) as a new student in Spring 2026 
  • Be enrolled as a domestic student 
  • Be a resident of NSW 
  • Be enrolled full-time each session 

To be eligible for additional loadings, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to register with the UOW Woolyungah Indigenous Centre (WIC). Eligibility to receive regional, rural or remote loading will be assessed by UOW via the  Modified Monash Model.  

UOW reserves the right to request repayment of any amount paid for the scholarship where a student fails to meet the eligibility requirements of the scholarship.  

Students are required to submit an online application addressing the criteria for the scholarship.

Scholarship payments are processed 10 business days following each session Census Date subject to UOW confirming you meet the ongoing eligibility requirements.  

Scholarship payments are paid directly to your nominated bank account. Additional information will be included in the scholarship terms and conditions.  

How do I know if my application has been submitted? 

As part of the application process, you will be provided with an email receipt for the submission of your application. If you do not receive a receipt of submission, in the first instance check your 'junk mail' (some email services automatically direct receipts to their user's junk mailboxes). If you still haven't received a receipt, please contact the UOW Fees and Scholarships team on (02) 4252 8959 or scholarships@uow.edu.au 

How do I know if I am a successful candidate? 

The UOW Fees and Scholarships team will contact you via email regarding the outcome. 

How do I accept my scholarship offer? 

To accept your scholarship, you will need to agree to the terms and conditions included with your offer letter and return them to the UOW Fees and Scholarships team at scholarships@uow.edu.au 

When will I receive my scholarship payments? 

Scholarship payments are processed 10 business days following each session Census Date subject to UOW confirming you meet the ongoing eligibility requirements.  
Payments are paid directly to your nominated bank account. Additional information will be included in the scholarship terms and conditions.  

Recipients must notify the Fees and Scholarships team of any changes to their eligibility prior to each census date. 

Will I have to pay tax on my scholarship? 

While most scholarships are not taxable, UOW encourages each scholarship recipient to seek their own advice. Contact the Australian Tax Office (ATO) to find out if your scholarship is taxable or visit the  

What if I move interstate while enrolled and receiving the scholarship? 

This scholarship is available to students enrolled and residing in NSW. If you relocate while enrolled and receiving the scholarship you MUST advise the UOW Fees and Scholarships team at scholarships@uow.edu.au. 

How do I know if I qualify for additional funding?  

This will be determined during the application process and advised at the time of your offer.  

I am a recipient of the Commonwealth Prac Payment, am I still eligible for this scholarship?  

Yes, you are eligible to apply and receive this scholarship if you are currently receiving payments under the Commonwealth Prac Payment program.
