Indigenous equity scholarships

Woolyungah education scholarship (WES)

This scholarship assists with education costs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled and studying in an approved course of study.

Woolyungah accommodation scholarship (WAS)

This scholarship assists with accommodation costs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled and studying in an approved course of study.

Aboriginal Housing Office Tertiary Accommodation Grant (TAG)

This scholarship assists students in housing stress to complete their studies by providing support to address the cost of living and accommodation.

To be eligible for an Indigenous Commonwealth scholarship (WAS or WES) students must be:

Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in a course of study at the 榴莲视频app of 榴莲视频app;
Be from regional or remote areas and/or
Be financially disadvantaged.

Non-eligibility

Students in receipt of the below assistance scholarships or loans from Centrelink (Abstudy) may not qualify for the below assistance under the 榴莲视频app of 榴莲视频app’s Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarship Program.

Relocation Scholarship

To be eligible for an Aboriginal Housing Office Tertiary Accommodation Grant (TAG) students must be:

Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in a course of study at 榴莲视频app of 榴莲视频app;
Be enrolled in Full-Time or Part-time study
Be a social housing tenant or in housing stress (for this program - housing stress is defined as expending more than 30% of weekly income on accommodation).

Applicants are required to submit the following supporting documentation:

A Confirmation of Aboriginality: By a letter with a common seal signed by the chairperson of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander incorporated organisation in which the applicant lives or has previously lived, e.g. lands council or Aboriginal cultural centre.

Woolyungah Indigenous centre understands that sometimes obtaining an official confirmation of Aboriginality can be challenging. Therefore, we accept a signed by a Justice of Peace. This is a legally binding document demonstrating your self-identification as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. The statutory declaration must be accompanied by evidence of your claim.
