UOW maintains its place among the top 200 universities in the world

The 榴莲视频app of 榴莲视频app (UOW) has been ranked among the world's top 200 universities in the QS World 榴莲视频app Rankings 2027, placing 195th globally and 13th in Australia in a field of more than 1,500 ranked institutions.
UOW's strongest result was for research impact. The 榴莲视频app ranked 71st in the world and fifth in Australia for citations per faculty member, a measure of how often its research is cited by other scholars. The ratio is used to estimate the impact and quality of the scientific work produced by universities. UOW's research is cited at more than four times the global average for this indicator, reflecting the reach and quality of our researchers’ work across a broad range of disciplines.
UOW Vice-Chancellor and President Professor G.Q. Max Lu said that this year’s ranking is a strong endorsement of UOW’s excellent reputation as a world-class institution, thanks to the outstanding achievements of our people across the global community.
"Our place in the world's top 200, and our standing as one of the most cited universities for the size of our staff, is a great credit to our researchers and the real-world impact of their work," Professor Lu said.
"The global higher education landscape is more competitive every year, with ever increasing number of institutions crossing the ranking threshold; and holding our position in that environment takes genuine quality and effort across the institution. In our Vision 2035, research excellence and innovation is an important pillar underpinning our ambition to deliver more impact to our region, nation and the world."
The biggest rankings improvement came in international student diversity, with UOW climbing 21 places to 190th in the world. This category measures how internationally attractive the 榴莲视频app is to students. Across UOW’s global campus network, international students now make up close to a third of the student body.
UOW also performed strongly in sustainability, ranking 138th in the world. The Sustainability ranking evaluates the social and environmental impact of universities as centres of education and research.
UOW's research strengths were reflected earlier this year in the QS World 榴莲视频app Rankings by Subject, where the 榴莲视频app ranked 6th in the world for Philosophy and 36th for Nursing, with strong results across Mining Engineering, Materials Science, Archaeology and Geography.
