How can the SAC help you?
The SAC maintains an ongoing relationship with the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp Senior Executive where student feedback can be escalated. The SAC welcomes all feedback, ideas, concerns and complaints from students to be brought to the attention of the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp. These include matters concerning:
- The effectiveness and comprehensiveness of student service delivery, such as AskUOW and Student Support Services.
- Teaching and learning matters, such as accreditation concerns, course structure and subject delivery.
- Higher degree research and research training, such as student research resources and funding, including scholarships, and information about student involvement and courses with research components.
- Policies and procedures affecting students such as the Student Conduct Policy, Academic Consideration Policy and Review and Appeal of Academic Decisions Policy.
- Campus life and activities including Orientation and UOW Pulse campus life activities.
The SAC encourages you to initially escalate concerns at a discipline and School level, or through existing feedback mechanisms. If you believe that the issue or concern you are facing is impacting a large proportion of students and isn’t being adequately addressed, please contact your student representative.
The SAC does not formally provide advocacy services. Advocacy at the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp is provided by the independent Student Advocacy Service and Student Ombudsman, the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA) and ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp Postgraduate Association (WUPA).
Other feedback avenues include:
- providing feedback directly to academic or professional staff
- annual surveys
- the feedback function
- the complaints management centre
