The Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) is an additional year of study available to high-achieving graduates of a Bachelor of Computer Science or related degree. Building on the theoretical and practical skills developed during your undergraduate studies, Honours provides an opportunity to deepen your knowledge of computer science through advanced study and research.
You'll complete a subject in research methodology that develops advanced research skills relevant to computer science, before applying these skills through an independent research project on a topic of interest. Alongside your research studies, you'll complete elective subjects that may include areas such as data mining, software engineering, artificial intelligence and computer security. The program provides scholarly grounding in scientific research, advanced research skills in computer science, and preparation for future higher-level research degrees.

Honours gives you the opportunity to explore a specialised area of computer science in greater depth while developing high-level research capability. Working closely with academic staff, you'll undertake a substantial research project that allows you to apply research methods to a topic that aligns with your interests and academic goals.
